keep-calm-and-study-phrasal-verbs-12

Phrasal verbs are one of the trickier things you will encounter when learning English and most students find them to be a real pain. Well we are hear to ease the pain a little. Over the next few post we will share some visuals and videos that we think will be helpful to students (and teachers).

The key phrasal verbs is to remember that they normally have two or more meanings, a literal meaning and idiomatic meanings. For example:

She entered the warm house and took off her jacket. (literal)

The airplane accelerated and took off at the end of the runway. (idiomatic)

Also remember that the two words that make up a phrasal verb are working together and the meaning is sometimes not related to the meaning of the individual words.

Well enough from me and enjoy the next few posts.
